My Thoughts
The first time I heard the sweat voice of Amy Lee, I was amazed. There was something new, something fresh about this woman, and by God I liked it! She had such emotion... The sound just flowed right through every part of my being. Then, later on, when I actually saw her (on the television of course, though real life would have been much better I'm sure!), again I was amazed. She was gorgeous, goth, and actually came out with a great video to compliment such a great song (I'm talking about the "Bring Me to Life" video, if you are curious). I still watch it every chance I get, and trust me, I'm not one to watch music videos. They typically bore me to tears after my initial viewing, but with a great front lady like Amy Lee on screen, I cannot seem to look away.

As a bit of an update, I've been really getting into the group's earlier works. I watched a concert on Much Music a while back where they said to download their earlier songs, as they aren't available to buy, and I did. It's rather good. I've found quite a few songs that I haven't been able to purchase, so it been like a treasure hunt, where I can always dig up more unheard songs. I can't quite believe just how many there are out there. Also, when it comes to the newer videos on the television. I quite enjoyed "Going Under". "My Immortal" is also alright, though in my opinion no where near in comparison to the "Bring Me to Life" video that I fell in love with, and still enjoy to a great degree.

This band just keeps amazing me. With the recent release of "Everybody's Fool", the band has once again proven to me why they are so perfect. It's a great song that I've liked for nearly the entire time I've known of it's existence. (Before I bought the "Fallen" album a long while ago, I took a "Which Evanescence song are you?" Quiz, and was told that I was "Everybody's Fool". Since then, I've had this sort of connection to the song.) Anyway, the video is pure perfection. I'm thinking the best one yet. I really like the connections brought up between reality and fame, and a shattered self-image. Very strong stuff. Excellent.

So, yea, just thought I'd make a mention to the song, "Broken" which Amy and her beau collaborated on. At first I really didn't like it. Odd enough. But now, it's one of my favorite songs. I guess some things just need time to stick. Whichever, I like it and listen to it all the time. I've also had the pleasure to hearing Amy and the band perform "Thoughtless", a cover tune from Korn. Another great one. I love this version. Perhaps more than the original.

-I believe Amy Lee is one of those rare talents that come around - she's beautiful, she's backed by an excelent guitarist and also has a pure and perfect voice. Plus, she's in a rock band - how much better could she get?
