My Thoughts
I have to say that this man's best feature is the way that he talks. The way that he speaks, with the careful thought, and pauses as well as tone and manner, all combined just send me over the top. I can't really explain with any words at this time the feeling that he sends through me when I hear him speak, but maybe that will come with time. You just never know. Perhaps it is even better left unexplained. Whatever the case, I find myself watching Law and Order: Criminal Intent twice a day or more (time shifting is a wonderful thing!) just to hear him speak.

As a little update to my infatuation with Vincent D'Onofrio, I thought that I would add the fact that I've seen him in a couple other movies, namely, "The Cell", "The Thirteenth Floor", "Feeling Minnesota", "The Newton Boys" and "Mystic Pizza". I do believe that he is a very good character actor, easily pulling off convincing rolls in all genres, but it is only his role in Law & Order: Criminal Intent that has my stomach doing all sorts of flipping motions. I suppose that I'm more attracted to his Robert Goren character he portrays then he himself, but that isn't a bad thing. It just proves at what a great actor he truly is.

My Collection
I'm pleased to say that I finally own one film by the wonderful Vincent D'Onofrio. It took me a short while to get one, but I saw it in the store and couldn't resist.

The Newton Boys
For a movie set way in the past, it was much better than I expected. Perhaps because it is a true story. That usually helps. In my case anyhow. The back reads:

They started out dirt poor - and ended up filthy rich! Matthew McConaughey, Ethan Hawke and Skeet Ulrich head an all-star cast in this action-packed adventure about the exploits of America's most successful outlaws.

It seems the only way The Newton Boys can make good is by goin' bad! Faster than you can say "nitroglycerin," they've knocked over more than 80 banks from Texas to Canada. Now their sights are set on a multimillion-dollar Federal Reserve train robbery, but the Feds are about to turn up the heat...

Vincent D'Onofrio, Dwight Yoakam and Julianna Margulies co-star in the rip-roaring, amazing-but-true tale of four brothers who dream of making a fortune... and wind up making history!

I tend to shy away from movies set way into the past. I find them dull, and boring, and they rarely interest me. This movie on the other hand is one of those rare gems that I do find interesting. Perhaps it's due to the fact that it's a true story, or maybe because it is made up of such a capable cast - I'm really not sure. More than likely both. Just as a side mention, we all know I'm a fan of Vincent, but I'm also a fan of Matthew McConaughey and Julianna Margulies, so when I saw the three of them in one film, it was more than I could resist.
